Waiting on Wednesday: Taken by Erin Bowman

Well hello there!

It’s Wednesday and that means it’s time to spotlight an upcoming new release that I’m waiting on! Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine and I like to participate in it every week. This week I am waiting on Taken by Erin Bowman.

There are no men in Claysoot. There are boys—but every one of them vanishes at midnight on his eighteenth birthday. The ground shakes, the wind howls, a blinding light descends…and he’s gone. They call it the Heist.

Gray Weathersby’s eighteenth birthday is mere months away, and he’s prepared to meet his fate–until he finds a strange note from his mother and starts to question everything he’s been raised to accept: the Council leaders and their obvious secrets. The Heist itself. And what lies beyond the Wall that surrounds Claysoot–a structure that no one can cross and survive. Climbing the Wall is suicide, but what comes after the Heist could be worse. I think this book sounds super interesting! People vanishing upon reaching a certain age?! Whoa!! I’m also excited about a male main character too! In this female dominated YA world we need more male characters!  Also, I’m always up for a good dystopia!

Taken is scheduled to be released on April 16 by HarperTeen, so we do have a few more months to wait.  So, what do ya think?!  Are you waiting on Taken too?
