Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Just Had to Buy, but Are Still Sitting Unread on My Shelf

18 Mar

Well hello there friends!

It’s time for Top Ten Tuesday (which is a weekly event hosted by The Broke and Bookish)!

You know that feeling when you enter a book store and you just have to buy all the books? Okay, well maybe not ALL the books, but you must absolutely no questions asked by some books? Yes, I knew you would understand. It’s such an overwhelming feeling of book lust that it cannot be denied. So, you purchase said books. You place them on your shelf all pretty-like and you can’t wait to read them. Then suddenly, months go buy and you realize you still haven’t read the books you just HAD to HAVE!

Let’s take a peek at the list of some books on my shelf that I HAD to buy, but still have yet to read.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J MaasThrone of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Delirium by Lauren OliverDelirium by Lauren Oliver

The Vespertine by Saundra MitchellThe Vespertine by Saundra Mitchell

Winter Town by Stephen EmondWintertown by Stephen Emond

Bluebloods by Melissa de la CruzBluebloods by Melissa de la Cruz

Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle ZinkProphecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink

Grave Mercy by Robin LaFeversGrave Mercy by Robin LaFevers

Dead City by James PontiDead City by James Ponti

Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCaffertySloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty

Prisoners in the Palace by Michaela MacCollPrisoners in the Palace by Michaela MacColl

I know! I know! How could I abandon these books to a life of loneliness on my book shelves? I don’t know! I’m obviously the worst book lover of all kinds! But let’s just say I was going to read them…which would you recommend I save first?

Love your list – I definitely have WAY too many books that I rushed out to buy just laying around waiting to be read!

It’s embarrassing how often this happens. Perhaps we should blame it on others, especially other book bloggers. It seems to make me feel better.

No my dear booktasty, this does not make you the worst booklover ever. This makes you a stereotypical book lover. We all do it. We love books. We cannot help ourselves. We just have to give these lovely books a home. Even if we take a while to better acquaint ourselves with them.

Delirium is great (it’s sequel is even better) and Prophecy of the Sisters is also pretty good, but not amazing. I have LOADS of books on my shelve that I haven’t read. But I just can’t help buying more! It’s the curse of the book lover ;)
